Chief, Education, L-5, Islamabad, Pakistan

Under the overall guidance of the Representative and Deputy Representative, you will be accountable for the development, design, planning, implementation and management of the Education programme within the country programme. As head of section, you will direct, lead and manage a group of professional and support staff to develop, manage and administer the sectoral or inter-sectoral programme.

Your profile:
Advanced university degree in the combination of the selective disciplines relevant to the following areas: Education; Primary Education, Economics, Social Sciences, or a field(s) relevant to international development assistance.
Ten years of professional work experience at national and international levels in field programmes relevant to Education programmes. Experience working in the UN or other international development organization an asset. Background/familiarity with Emergency.

Expert knowledge of the technical areas of UNICEF Education programmes.
Expert technical leadership and knowledge of theories, principles and methods in the combination of selective fields of the following:  Education; Primary Education, Economics, Social Sciences, and/or related fields.
Fluency in English and a second UN language. Local working language of the duty station an asset.
