Knowledge Management Specialist, P-3, Evaluation Office, New York

Under the supervision of the Senior Specialist, Systemic Strengthening, to manage a set of critical elements of the Evaluation Knowledge Management approach, especially the Evaluation and Research Data Base, the interactive ‘community of practice’ linking all M&E staff, the Intranet/Internet, and newsletters about the evaluation function. Through these means to promote the visibility of the evaluation function, the integration of staff throughout the organization as users and suppliers of evaluation information, and the quality of what is included in the KM efforts. As several of these initiatives are in pilot developmental phases in 2009-2010, a more intensive supervision is being exercised by more senior staff; in mi-2011, this post will assume control of those that have exited the pilot phase and are well established.
Your profile:
• Advanced university degree in social sciences or related technical field desirable. First degree required. Formal training in evaluation is desirable. Formal training in knowledge management disciplines—even short-term courses—highly desirable.
• At least five years of professional work experience at national and international levels in evaluation, planning or public administration, preferably in developing countries.
• Experience in the knowledge management function of a medium-large corporation or research/development institution highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work in an international or multicultural environment.
• Knowledge of computer management and applications, especially in user-friendly interactive internet design.
• Good inter-personal and team skills.
• Current knowledge of evaluation methodologies.
• Fluency in English and at least moderate reading capacities French and/or Spanish.
