Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, P-3, Geneva CEE/CIS Regional Office, Switzerland

If you are a passionate and committed professional and want to make a lasting difference for children, the world's leading children's rights organization would like to hear from you. UNICEF seeks a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist to be based in its Geneva CEE/CIS Regional Office, Switzerland.

Under the supervision of the Regional Adviser, Monitoring and Evaluation, supports the Regional Office in the preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Multiple Indicators Cluster Survey (MICS), TransMONEE database (TM) and DevInfo in the region.

Your profile:
• Master's degree or equivalent in social sciences, demography, epidemiology, statistics or a related technical field, with significant measurement and analysis component.
• At least five years experience with measurement of human populations, particularly using household surveys, preferably MICS or DHR surveys. Experience in developing countries an asset. Management experience in implementing measurement projects.
• Professional technical expertise statistics, demography or epidemiology or a similar field with a measurement/data collection component.
• Experience in using statistics in advocacy and communication.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, databases (Access, DevInfo), and statistical analysis software (SPSS, Stata).
• Excellent and proven analytical, quantitative and qualitative research skills.
• Expertise in the analysis of household survey data, including data from Multiple Indicators Cluster Surveys (MICS) and the Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS).
• Proven creativity in using statistics originally and rigorously for conveying messages on the situation of women and children to targeted audiences.
• Training experience and ability to organize and facilitate training and presentations.
• Current knowledge of development issues, strategies, as well as programming policies and procedures in international development cooperation.
• Proven ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas, as well as to impart knowledge and teach skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, managerial, supervisory and organizational ability.
• Excellent analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
