Education Specialist (Gender), L-4, Islamabad, Pakistan

If you are a passionate and committed professional and want to make a lasting difference for children, the world's leading children's rights organization would like to hear from you. UNICEF seeks a Education Specialist (Gender) to be based in its Islamabad Office, Pakistan.

Under the guidance of the Chief Education, the incumbent is responsible to provide leadership and support government to achieve the planed objectives of Gender in Education Policy Support Project (GEPSP) within the Education Sector.

Your profile:
• Advanced university degree in education or a related field. Knowledge of latest developments and approaches in Gender in Education.
• Strong analytical understanding of issues, challenges and opportunities in Gender in Education in the context of Pakistan.
• A minimum of eight years of progressively responsible professional work experience at national and international levels in programmes related to gender in education; demonstrated experience in the analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data, knowledge promotion and capacity strengthening activities; demonstrated evidence of leadership and experience in working effectively with various tiers of government; experience in documenting the theory and practice of gender programming.
• Analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy abilities.
• Managerial, supervisory, mentoring, and team leadership abilities.
• Experience in conducting effective capacity development activities.
• Computer skills, including mail, internet and various office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work in an international and multinational environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships with government counterparts and colleagues.
• Commitment to results-based management.
• Commitment to human rights and gender equality.
• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of the local language of the duty station an asset.
