Children's broadcasting partnerships

Media partnerships provide powerful opportunities for children to voice their opinions and to be heard. Partnerships with organizations such as Prix Jeunesse, which keeps quality children's programming at the heart of its work, are very important to UNICEF. Working at various forums, UNICEF continues to develop broadcasting partnerships to build on the current programming environment for children and to help satisfy the growing need networks have for advice on content about social issues affecting children.

A global media campaign such as UNICEF's International Children's Day of Broadcasting (ICDB) highlights the effort of broadcasters worldwide in promoting children's rights, children's participation in broadcasting and promoting quality children’s programming. The MAGIC network showcases great examples of good practices and is a great tool for media professionals. Voices of Youth gives broadcasters the chance to see what youth have to say about media and other important issues. theoneminutesjr. provides the opportunity to young people to express themselves through the power of film. Parnerships can achieve the greatest impact, by committing media players to setting high standards in the production as well as television programming for children.
