UNICEF is providing support for the presentation of the Alexander Bodini Charitable Foundation children’s awards, which will honour three child-led organizations that have successfully and meaningfully contributed to creating a world fit for children.
The 2009 San Marino-Alexander Bodini Foundation Children’s Awards will comprise a grant of US$20,000 for each finalist. The awards will be presented at an event to be held in New York City in February 2010 in the presence of members of the Government of San Marino and the Executive Director of UNICEF. During the awards event, a message from the children who lead the organizations may be read or shown, and also a brief audio-visual presentation highlighting the achievements of the previous year’s recipients will be shown.
The three UNICEF offices from where the award recipient organizations are selected will also receive US$10,000 each from the Alexander Bodini Charitable Foundation towards the promotion of children’s participation and civic engagement. Below are details of the award, including the purposes, nomination criteria and deadline.
Purpose of Award:
- The award recognizes the positive contribution and dedication of children to promoting child rights.
- In providing these awards to the selected child-led organization, the Alexander Bodini Charitable Foundation seeks to promote them as role models for other children and young people around the world.
- The support for this award is another expression of UNICEF's commitment to recognizing the positive contribution of children and young people to meaningful and effective participation and as agents of change.
