Johnson & Johnson India
Bringing positive changes in menstrual hygiene practices amongst young girls in India.
UNICEF India and Johnson & Johnson India have been partners since 2013 supporting initiatives to educate adolescents girls on menstrual health and hygiene management.
The partnership addresses the social context of silence and misinformation around menstruation and numerous sociocultural restrictions imposed on the adolescent girls.
The programme has been running in Bihar, Jharkhand and Gujarat and uses innovative communication tools such as ‘Paheli ki Saheli’ to bring about a social and behavior change.
The partnership catalyzed and bought forward adolescent girls who were willing to speak openly, about the issue, negotiate for better personal health and hygiene and become role models for many others.
